You don’t need a ticket to SoFi Stadium to get in on the World Cup. As the world’s biggest sporting event takes over LA, the Westside is hosting plenty of ways to join the celebration.
Santa Monica is one of the Westside’s biggest World Cup hubs. Santa Monica Place is hosting match broadcasts, live entertainment, games, and family-friendly activities throughout the tournament, while additional soccer-themed events are popping up around downtown, the Pier, and the beach.
Culver City’s “Kick It With Culver City” series is bringing free public screenings to local parks and gathering spaces, making it easy to catch a match.
Venice Beach will get its turn in the spotlight July 10 and 11, when the official Los Angeles World Cup Fan Zone takes over Windward Plaza with live match viewing, music, food vendors, and fan activities. The beach will also host a free international beach soccer doubleheader featuring the U.S. men’s and women’s national beach soccer teams.
If you’re looking for a more traditional match-day atmosphere, head to O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Santa Monica which has transformed itself into a World Cup destination, complete with food specials inspired by participating countries. Nearby favorites like Sonny McLean’s, Britannia Pub, Joxer Daly’s, and Mar Vista’s own N17 The Lane are also expected to be packed for the tournament’s biggest matches.
