I am writing as an Angeleno with urgent concerns about Senate Bill 423 (McKinnor, Gonzalez) which creates extensive exemptions to Measure ULA, potentially leading to losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars per year for housing, homelessness and poverty reduction programs in the City of LA.
This is a rushed measure from lawmakers in Sacramento that bypasses the years of local, community-based work that brought us ULA and would dramatically undermine the votes of 512,808 Angelenos who voted for the measure in 2022 in order to better our city.
